Welcome to our new blog!

We're two design-obsessed moms living in a modern design wasteland. This blog is about us injecting some budget-conscious modern design into our homes. Rachel's house was built in 1904 and needed extensive work even before they moved in! Built in 1925, Leila's house was the victim of a cheap-ass flipper. Technically, it's livable but everything was done on the cheap.

Rachel's style leans towards a mix of vintage and modern pieces. She's an expert thrifter! Leila also shares a passion for mid century design mixed with scando-chic inspired by her background in architecture and fashion.

Our neighbourhood, Wortley Village is community oriented, downtown neighbourhood. There's an extensive range of shops and cafes and an eclectic mix of people. We love living here because of the mix of housing styles, from century to contemporary modernist.
