Wild Onions

Wild leeks or ramps are all the rage, but they are tricky to find. In my neck of the woods, we can find Wild Onions quite readily and I brought some home after a recent foraging trip (we also found a few morels, but devoured them before we could take photos!). I can't find any pics online of what we picked, but this particular variety of Wild Onion looks a lot like a wide leafed grass (*not* like the broad, Lily-of-the-Valley like leaf of Ramps/Wild Leeks).

They look like this:

They are totally delicious and you use them much as you would a leek, though it's quite pungent and garlicky. I've brushed them with EVOO and grilled them and the pic above is of a simple stirfry with local Apsaragus, Peppers, and Wild Onions. Keep your eyes out for them!
