Courtyard Inspiration

I am determined to make the most of our teeny backyard this summer. While it may not be the perfect soccer field my son had envisioned in this house, if we got creative I'm sure it could be a great place for morning coffee or a late summer nightcap. I am finding these images inspiring lately:
I love the hanging planters and the dark grey accents of Julianne Moore's garden.

While the decor is not really my style in this picture, I love the way the designers created a cozy dining nook in this small space.

Again with the vertical garden, and the tall walls to enclose the space.

I love the outdoor living room feel of this patio. The grey tones on the patio are nice too.

This backyard space feels so romantic to me. I love the idea of a garden built right into a dividing wall, built in storage benches, and twinkle lights. The movie screen is not too shabby, either...

I know this is impossible, but enclosing the space between brick walls would make the entire space feel so cozy. I love the low chairs, and that firepit is to die for! So many things to think about. Do you have a small outdoor space? How do you make it work?
